About Foothills Florist
Rooted in Community, Growing Through Change
Foothills Florist has been serving the community since the late 1980s. Over the years, the business has had several owners, each contributing to its long history.
I purchased Foothills Florist in 2012, and since then, I have had the privilege of continuing its story through changing times, challenges and everything that comes with running a flower business.
Foothills Florist is proudly privately owned and owner-operated. As the owner, I am personally involved in every part of the business—from creating and fulfilling custom orders to ensuring our hospital deliveries are handled with the care they deserve.
One of the biggest challenges came when our physical flower shop was lost in a devastating fire. Thankfully, no one was injured — and even the cats from the neighboring Cat House store were safely rescued. The community rallied around the affected businesses, and we were fortunate to be able to move Foothills Florist into our sister store, Oasis Floral Studio.
Losing the shop was a significant turning point, but it wasn't the end of Foothills Florist.
The business continued, adapted and moved forward. Today, Foothills Florist operates from a private floral studio, allowing us to continue creating custom floral arrangements and providing the personal service our customers have come to expect.
A Special Focus on Hospital Flowers
One of the things closest to my heart is making sure patients receive the flowers and gifts sent to brighten their day - and to ensure we do our part to make that happen - we deliver to Foothills Hospital, Arthur Child and the Children's Hospital for free.
Hospital floral delivery is a specialty at Foothills Florist. We understand that when someone sends flowers to a patient, those flowers represent more than a gift. They are a way to say I'm thinking of you, I hope you're feeling better or I wish I could be there.
With years of experience delivering to local hospitals, we have extensive knowledge of the Foothills Medical Centre and the Arthur J. E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. We understand the delivery process and the importance of making sure each order gets to the appropriate location safely and in good condition.
We also understand that not every hospital unit permits flowers or gifts. When restrictions apply, we are happy to help customers choose an appropriate alternative gift so they can still send something thoughtful to let a patient know they are being remembered.
We deliver to local hospitals twice a day, and as the owner of Foothills Florist, I personally deliver arrangements to the appropriate hospital unit whenever possible. This extra care helps ensure that every floral gift arrives in good order and condition and is ready to brighten a patient's room.
Custom Flowers for Every Occasion
The arrangements featured on our website are only a small sample of what Foothills Florist can create.
We specialize in custom floral orders and are happy to work with our customers to create something unique for a particular occasion, recipient or budget. Whether you have something specific in mind or need help choosing the right flowers, we can create an arrangement designed especially for your needs.
From thoughtful hospital gifts and get-well flowers to celebrations, sympathy and other meaningful occasions, every arrangement is created with care and attention to detail.
Still Growing, Still Creating
Foothills Florist has been part of the community for decades, and while the business has changed over the years, the heart of it remains the same: creating beautiful flowers and helping people connect through them.
From our private studio to a hospital room, every arrangement represents something important to the person sending it—and to the person receiving it.
We are proud of our history, grateful for the customers who have supported us through the years and excited to continue the story of Foothills Florist.
Because sometimes flowers are more than flowers. They're comfort, celebration, encouragement and a reminder that someone cares.
